Drawing from her career in classical ballet, contemporary dance, and leadership roles, Marie Chong brings unparalleled expertise to movement coaching, direction, and choreography.
Director & Choreographer
After her career as a professional dancer in both classical ballet and contemporary dance with companies such as Pacific Northwest Ballet, Eugene Ballet, and Spectrum Dance Theater, Marie Chong founded ARC Dance Productions in Seattle, Washington in 1999 and opened the associated Ballet School in 2004.
She was the Artistic Assistant of Cirque du Soleil’s big top touring show KOOZA in Japan and the United States, and worked as Rehearsal Director for Dance Theatre of Harlem under Artistic Director Virginia Johnson.
Teaching & Fitness Coach
Chong has served on the faculty of the University of Washington, Cornish College of the Arts, Pacific Northwest Ballet School, Eugene Ballet School, Seattle Theater Group (STG) DANCE This, Spectrum Dance Theater, and many other schools in the Seattle area. She has also been a Teaching Artist for Disney Theatrical Group.
Chong holds certifications in Pilates, Gyrotonic®, Gyrokinesis®, and is safety certified through USA Gymnastics and US Figure Skating. She is also certified in the American Ballet Theater® National Training Curriculum.
